This 3 day car camping trip to Red River Gorge is an intermediate hiking trip. Campsites are first come first serve so we will plan to leave Indianapolis about 9am on Friday, April 19, 2019, from a carpool location TBD based upon participants who sign up.

We will setup base camp Friday through Sunday morning near Grays Arch to minimize driving time and maximize hiking time. We will prepare breakfast both Saturday and Sunday morning and dinner both Friday and Saturday evenings.

The trails we will be hiking over the weekend include D. Boon Hut Trail, Double Arches, Auxier Ridge, Grays Arch, Rock Bridge and part of the Swift Camp Trail over the 3 day weekend.

Sunday morning, we will pack up early and be out of the campsite by 9am and go for a short hike on one of the trails mentioned above. We will then head to Miguels Pizza for lunch, which is on your own.

Depending upon when we leave Miguels, we should arrive back in Indy no later than 7pm. Sooner depending upon when we pack up and head back to the van Sunday morning and after lunch.

The trip fee includes transportation in the club van, 2 breakfasts and 2 dinners on the trail and other fees. Lunches and trail snacks, meals in route and post hike at Miguel’s are at participant’s expense.

All trip participants must fill out and submit a CIWC Medical Form  and Long Waiver Form.
