Flying in to Denver, Colorado, we will get to experience a “Rocky Mountain High.” After a scenic drive to Estes Park we will be staying in a cabin for six nights. Estes Park is at 7,500 elevation. After a club breakfast each morning we will heading to various trails in Rocky Mountain National Park for day hikes, many of which will be strenuous and at high altitudes. The park has many beautiful lakes and mountain views. We may see Elk, Big Horn Sheep or maybe even a mountain lion. The average high temperature is 70 with lows in the 30’s. There may be optional horseback riding and canoeing on Glacier Lake trips. When returning on Friday to stay in a hotel in Denver, we will take the Big Thompson Canyon route noted for its beautiful scenery. We will fly home on Saturday.
The trip fee includes cabin rental with shared rooming, hotel the night prior to flight home, vehicle rental and six breakfasts in the cabin. You will be responsible every day for your lunches and eating out at dinner and any meals while traveling and for your flight to Denver. A mandatory practice hike will be scheduled at a later date
All trip participants must fill out and submit a CIWC Medical Form and Long Waiver Form.
